450 Pound Harambe Was Not Magilla Gorilla

Here are my thoughts on this story about the child falling into the gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo.

The zoo did what it had to do to save the child. Regardless how the child got there, he had to be removed safely, and there would be no way to mount a rescue without endangering more people or the child. Therefore, the gorilla was euthanized "remotely" (shot). He was not the cute and happy Magilla Gorilla or Grape Ape of the cartoons. Doesn't anyone remember what a 200 pound chimpanzee did to Charla Nash? That animal had to be shot also.

Apparently the animal rights wackos from PETA are all upset, and would have been more happy to allow the gorilla to perform a late, late, late, late term abortion instead.

Maybe the gorilla's family can file a civil lawsuit against the zoo, the family of the child, the city, and of course, the firearm manufacturer. I heard they put Gloria Allred on retainer.

Monday May 30, 2016. Memorial Day

I'm back from the town ceremony, my FD Class A uniform is stripped of it's hardware and ready to be dropped off at the dry cleaners this week, and my flag is back up to full staff. I was tasked with leading the town in reciting The Pledge of Allegiance. Before I did, I made a brief speech, saying how we all learned The Pledge at a young age, and recite it automatically without even having to think about it. On this day, let us think about the words as we say them, and reflect on their meaning.

Don't Apologize For Me, YOU P.O.S.!!!

Jackass continues his "World Apology Tour" with the 2016 leg to Hiroshima, Japan to apologize for nuking them and ending WWII. You know, I hold no grudges against the Japanese. I like the Japanese people, food, culture, and technology. My personal vehicles are both Toyota trucks (even though one was built in the U.S.), and I once owned a beautiful Suzuki motorcycle I had bought new.

However, the fanatical Japanese of the 1930's and 1940's are not the Japanese people of today. If ever a  country deserved to be bombed into submission, it was them. I understand the hate some surviving veterans of WWII still hold, even though I do not harbor any. Any student of WWII history knows how and why we bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the ultimate result, "Unconditional Surrender". Watching the video of the surrender ceremony aboard the USS Missouri shows how important dropping the bombs were to achieving the surrender and complete submission to the victors.

So, you P.O.S., don't you dare apologize for this American. If it had taken a million more Japanese deaths to accomplish that unconditional surrender, then so be it. It was all their fault, and the blame for what happened rests solely on the shoulders of the former Empire of Japan, not on The United States.

Counting the minutes until January 20, 2017.

Effects of An Extreme Minimum Wage

I listen to conservative talk radio from 9AM to 9PM Monday through Friday as often as I can. It starts with either Jim Vicevich on "Sound Off Connecticut" locally on AM 1080 or CBS on-line if I am able to, or Glenn Beck if I can't. Rush from noon to 3, Hannity from 3 to 6, and "The Great One" Mark Levin from 6 to 9. During all of these shows lately, I have been hearing an advertisement for a franchise opportunity for a frozen yogurt dispensing "robot". The ad tells how great they are; no big store footprint, long lines of customers, runs 24/7, put them in high foot traffic areas, etc. Here's another advantage I just thought of, but isn't stated......NO EMPLOYEES MAKING A MANDATORY $15/HOUR! See, back in the old days, my dear wife as a teenager worked at Carvel Ice Cream, making minimum wage of $3.37/hour or maybe a little more. She also worked at Caldor department store at the same time, probably making about the same amount of money. Since she was still in high school and lived at home, she was on her parents medical insurance (because she was still really a child in the classic sense), so of course she had no employer benefits. These kinds of jobs were NEVER meant to be careers for people trying to raise a family. But that's exactly what the libtards want us all to believe.

Here's what I believe in......FREE MARKET FORCES. No one is going to pay $12 for a Whopper, and I doubt the fast food industry is just going to commit collective suicide. Nope, those pimply faced young people are just going to go bye-bye without ever seeing $15/hour. Instead we'll be seeing these self -service ordering kiosks. While this has been talked about for a couple of years, Wendy's is apparently moving forward with this soon. It never ceases to amaze me, how when gubmint mandates something that is going to have an adverse effect on the bottom line, they think the corporations are just going to bend over and take it. Nope....they either pass the costs onto the customers if they think those customers will tolerate the increase, or more likely, what I like to call "comply with the law." They will pay the remaining "necessary" employees the mandated wage, but unless the gubmint passes a compulsory employment law, the others will be gone. That is, until the industry(s) find a way to automate away more of those expensive low-skilled employees. The libtards refer to that as using a "loophole" that they must legislate closed.

OMG! Is This Nut For Real? Oh Yes...Unfortunately So.

From a letter to the editor of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Click on the text to read the whole stupid thing.

On April 5th, Daniel Webster, the director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research, spoke to the initiative about Missouri gun violence spikes since our state repealed firearm background checks in 2007. And recently, retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, 96, came to campus and talked about his landmark dissenting opinion on the misinterpretation of our Second Amendment. We learned that we do not all have the right to a gun. It’s not 1791 anymore, and we are now one of the most violent countries on earth.

This woman is convinced it is Washington University's "Gun Free Death Zone" policy that keeps her safe in the little bubble of academic utopia she lives in. That if we could just expand that bubble to cover the entire city of St. Louis, (then the state of Missouri, and of course, finally the nation) we would all be safe from "gun violence". NONSENSE! This is just more unrealistic tripe from people who live in the unrealistic world of academia. Does she really think the bad guys are going to care or participate in her little fantasy?

I contend exactly the opposite; that my home, my town, and the "bubble" surrounding me while I am carrying is indeed the safest place for anyone to be. Except for potential bad guys, of course. I wonder, would this nutty bitch ever sit down and talk to that mother of three from Georgia from 2013? You remember the one; hiding in the upstairs crawl space with the kids, hubby on the phone, police on their way, intruder in the house, and he finds them hiding. She empties the gun into the bad guy and saves her family. Unfortunately for society, the bad guy survived, but the family was saved. Or how about me? Potential intruder beating on my front door at 1:00 AM Christmas morning 2012. He left very quickly when he saw through the window I was armed and pissed. Good thing too, because when I called 911 and requested a state trooper, I was told they were busy with weather related fender benders. There is no record of my "use" of a firearm to defend my home, just a state police log entry and recording of my phone call that says nothing about my being armed.

An Exercise of Property Rights 2016

An article in last months community newsletter warned residents of my town that property revaluation was taking place. Properties requiring inspection would be "visited" by the third party property values contractor. Their photos and vehicle descriptions were in the newsletter, as well as a FAQ page. One of the Q & A's had to do with refusal to allow them on your property. As it turns out, these inspections are strictly voluntary, but I already knew this.

I have NEVER allowed these inspections in the past, whether here or at my previous property. I felt that since we had this house built, the town had ample access to inspect anything they needed to see before they issued my C.O. Once I had my C.O., town officials are only allowed here by invitation, and I never give those out to anyone but true guests.

So, work has finally slowed back down, allowing me to go back to working out of my house. Because of how my house is situated on the property, I can't tell when someone comes up my 300 foot gravel driveway without having a proximity alarm to warn me. Yesterday afternoon around 3:30 PM, the alarm sounded. Also, keep in mind, the fact that I am always armed. Yesterday was no different, except I was openly wearing my large .357 Magnum revolver in a rig I refer to as my Wyoming Deputy Sheriff gun belt. As soon as the alarm sounds, I raise the garage door from the remote at my work area, and as I walk out of the kitchen to the garage, the door is almost all the way up. This caught the contractor quite by surprise, because he wasn't even all the way out of his pickup truck yet. I was standing in the rear of the garage in the dark, so he couldn't see me at first. When he entered the garage he saw me, but I'm not 100% sure he saw my gun. He told me who he was, and I told him that he and the other contractors are not welcome here. He said that was OK, it was my right to refuse, and then he asked about taking updated photos. I told him he could take one from the driveway on the way out, and he headed out. I watched him leave, but couldn't tell if he took a photo or not. All you can really see is the garage end of the house from that vantage point.

I pay a butt-load of property taxes (almost $6000 per year) on what I consider a very modest home. We have no town services except for road maintenance including snow plowing and the volunteer fire department. The majority of tax revenue goes to the black hole that is the town board of education. That amount of money is positively obscene, especially since I have never had any children in this town's school system. Their assessment of my property is incorrect to my advantage, and I know because I have read it. Tough shit for them, they had their chance to get it right before I moved in. As King of My Castle, I lord over my realm and try to keep safe what I hold dear.

I Have Been Warning About This......

That the unconstitutional/intolerable acts (aka gun control) was not going to be held in check by the PSRK's borders.

Emperor Dannel I to Spread His Gun Control Poison

Along with recently elected Hartford mayor Luke Bronin (who like Rahm Emanuel in Chicago blames the guns for the shootings in his city, not the criminals) they think their gun control is doing wonders. Except for a couple of annoying facts:

1). Hartford is currently the murder capitol of New England. My small rural town has very high gun ownership, yet no annual murder rate. I guarantee it is not due to gun control, and I know many people that also carry ALL the time. While there is a shooting range in my town, it belongs to a small private club. So, most people shoot on their own property, and the sound of gunfire is not unusual on the weekends all over town.

2). What about that Armed Civil Disobedience of Non-Compliance those unconstitutional/intolerable acts have spawned? Best estimates are 85% non-compliance here in the PSRK.

3). The only "aggressive enforcement" we've seen have been of idiots and criminals. The state is scared shitless to try and enforce the 2013 laws against suspected gun owners that were once law-abiding, and are now known as "peaceable gun owners." The body count on both sides would be intolerable.

With Emperor Dannel I's "Second Chance Society" and proposed "Second Chance 2.0" even the repeat offenders are out on the streets and armed as soon as they are out. But the real problem is guys like me.....that carry defensively, not offensively.

I'll get rid of mine as soon as Emperor Dannel I gives up his PSRK State Police security detail....meaning NEVER!

New Britain Museum of American Art

This post is a break away from my usual subjects. This past Saturday, my daughter orchestrated a family outing for my Dad's 82nd birthday. We went to the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, PSRK, followed by lunch at the Greek festival at St.George's Greek Orthodox Church. We have been to this festival before, and the food is outstanding! I had some souvlaki, orzo, and spinaka, and then for dessert some loukamades. The main reason for going to the museum was to see some Shaker items my cousin had on display from the South Family of Enfield, PSRK, for the Shaker exhibit. For those that don't know, The Shakers were a religious sect that did not believe in traditional marriage and procreation, but relied on religious conversion to grow their ranks. A good description of them can be found here. They were prolific craftsmen that built everything they needed and their engineering was amazing.

The main exhibit at the museum was of this guy's work:

Salvador Dali     May 11, 1904 to January 23, 1989

Now I am the last guy to care much about art. Frankly I normally just don't get it, and for some of his work that was certainly the case here. But I also found some of his stuff really neat, and he had a GREAT mustache! For example; a painting of Christ's crucifixion looking down on Jesus' head gave a new perspective, and a printed description next to the painting says that if you look at two copies side by side through a stereoscopic viewer, you see a self portrait of the artist. Cool! A painting of his nude wife from 20 meters away becomes a portrait of Abraham Lincoln. The whole "Alice in Wonderland" series of illustrations were creepy but definitely interesting. The best part was the photo shoot of how he did this photograph:

Called “In Voluptas Mors” (“Voluptuous/Desirable Death”) it was done using seven nude women on a specially built black wooden platform and black drapes and took over 3 hours to align and photograph in 1951.

Memorial Day 2016.....every day should be Memorial Day

There are few things in life that bug me more than what happens every year on Memorial Day. It is not the first day of summer. It is not National BBQ Day. It is not an excuse to have a furniture sale, auto sale, or department store sale. It is The Day set aside to remember those that have given their lives in military service for our country. Our national embarrassment currently residing in the white house couldn't be bothered to lay a wreath at Arlington, and confuses Memorial Day with Veterans Day. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we need to spend the entire day in quiet mourning and reflection, but people PLEASE!! at least think about what the day really means at some point. For the week leading up to Memorial Day I fly the POW/MIA flag below the US flag on my lighted flagpole. On Memorial Day, I remove it so that I can lower the US flag to half-staff from sunrise until noon, when the US flag is raised to full staff and the POW/MIA flag goes back up until the next day. This method of flying the US flag is spelled out in US Code 4 Section 7 Paragraph (m). The following poem was written at the height of WWI, and should be familiar to any choir members I may be preaching to.

In Flanders Field by John McCrae 1915

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Why is Memorial Day so important to me? PFC Stephen D. Tingley, USMC was a childhood friend that could always crack me up. In elementary school we had tons of fun and got into a lot of trouble together. In middle school and early high school we played baseball together. Since we ended up at different high schools, in later years we drifted apart. Apparently Stephen joined the Marines right out of school, where I joined the Army Reserves more than a year after graduation. I was married two months when we got the news about the cowardly savage killing of sleeping Marines in Beirut by jihadi scum. Just about everyone in town that knew Stephen were at his funeral. There was a horse drawn wagon carrying his flag-draped coffin to the cemetery. I saw classmates I had not seen since middle school, but no one had a happy reunion, it was the saddest thing you ever saw, and the silence was deafening. It will be 33 years since his passing, and I still have the gaping hole in my heart.

KIA October 23, 1983 Beirut, Lebanon

The Marines were in Lebanon as part of a multi-national peace keeping force, not an offensive combat role. As we know, jihadi scum only relish in death and war, so they had to take out the infidel peace keepers. This is one of the many reasons I hope to kill at least one jihadi (but hopefully more) before I die.

If anyone wants me to post up a tribute to their loved ones in this blog, email me the details before Memorial Day.

Armed Forces Day 2016

Today is Armed Forces Day, honoring every branch of the U.S. military. If you know someone who is serving right now, reach out to them wherever they may be and let them know you are thinking about them. If you know a veteran, thank them for their service. If you know a Viet Nam veteran, make sure you tell them "Welcome Home!" These vets are very special to me, since I know several. I'll do this on a regular basis when I see some guy in a Viet Nam hat, jacket, or maybe a bumper sticker on his vehicle. Wanna see a grizzled old tough guy well up with tears in the grocery store? It works every time and they really do appreciate it.

The Greatest Show on Earth? Maybe not so much any more.

So, The Ringling Bothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, otherwise known as "The Greatest Show on Earth", just ended its run at the XL Center in Hartford. Last month was the final show with the Asian Elephants in Providence, RI. As usual, liberal activists are NEVER satisfied when it comes to ruining the things that make America great.

Animal Rights Protest in Hartford

Now, these fruitcakes want to eliminate ALL the animal acts from all circuses. To me, if there are no animal acts at the circus, I could just go watch a comedy show (or C-SPAN) on TV to replace seeing clowns, and go see the tranny potty supporting acrobats at Cirque de Soleil. Take me back to the days of the circus train coming to town, the circus parade down the main street, and a real big top being set up using the elephants to set the poles.

Setting Up The Tent With Elephant Power

Then again, isn't this exactly how libtards function, forcing their agenda upon us using creeping incrementalism?

If only......

Bernie on Target During the Debate

In the words of Brian Griffin,  the dog on "Family Guy".......

"Oh my God, that was hil-arious."

Ted "The Motor City Madman" Nugent caught heat over sharing this video on Fakebook. Me, I'm a nobody, so I don't care how much (if any) condemnation I receive. In fact, I welcome it.

UPDATE: For those that think the other side doesn't engage in this stuff, I submit the following:

With Memorial Day approaching, need we say more?

9-11-2012 Remember Benghazi!!!

The Dogs of War Are Close

Finally, a news outlet saying it, and based on the volume of comments has struck a nerve. Granted, it is a shooting sports oriented one, but hey it's a start. Now if the legacy print and alphabet news outlets would pick it up, well....that might really be something!

American Spring?

You see, right now, the tyrants are either naive or ignorant of the facts to what they have created in The Armed Civil Disobedience of Non-Compliance. This is evidenced by their continued push for more and more of it. The public at large has no idea. Maybe if there was more publicity they would think twice.....

...yeah, right.

Hoplophobes March in the Cesspool of NYC

Ah yes....the usual band of Doomberg funded mommies for gun confiscation, lead by the MILF herself Shannon Watts. Oh you better believe I'd hit that, but I can't guarantee she would enjoy it half as much as I would. Who knows, she probably likes the rough stuff.

The 2016 NYC Hoplophobes-R-Us Parade
From Yahoo! News

Here's an interesting tidbit of Hollywood hypocrisy from the article:

"Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore was among the crowd that rallied before the march. She said she was spurred to get involved to advocate for stronger gun laws after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where a gunman killed 20 children and six adults in December 2012"

First off, as I always seem to need to point out, 28 people died in that massacre including the shooter and his mother. But it doesn't have the same impact if we only mourn the 20 precious children and teachers now does it. But here's where I have the hypocrisy problem here. If you are a fan of The Hunger Games movie series as I am, then you know Julianne Moore plays rebel president Alma Coin, where she acts as a C.I.C. directing attacks against President Snow and Capitol City....USING WEAPONS OF WAR!! I wonder if Ms. Moore is aware of the wide spread Armed Civil Disobedience of Non-Compliance that the post Sandy Hook gun laws have spawned? Why, it is reported to be a 95% non-compliance rate in NY state alone (85% here in the PSRK)! If the government ever feels froggy enough to try and enforce their intolerable and unconstitutional acts, I wonder if we could count on the support of a President Coin and District 13? Yeah right. She would probably be horrified to learn the movie she starred in is playing out in real life. And that there are thousands (if not more) of Patriots ready to do whatever needs to be done to re-gain our freedoms. Wait and see what happens when we have our very own Mockingjay.

Don't You Just Love How Liberals Want to Spend YOUR money?

As usual, I watched the CBS "Sunday Morning" show this morning. I know, pretty much a lib show, but I have been watching for decades and certainly watch with a jaded eye, especially the propaganda pieces. But there are some otherwise interesting stories. However, the reason I am writing this post, is because of a segment today promoting nationwide paid maternity leave. YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki spoke about how we are only one of two nations in the world that don't have government (meaning taxpayer) funded maternity leave, that Google generously provides for all of its employees. She used it 5 times herself. Aw....isn't that great? Wait....isn't the Google corporation worth billions? Don't liberals hate corporations and billionaires? Then, here is my helpful statement:

HEY YOU MARXIST BITCH.....LET GOOGLE PAY FOR NATIONWIDE MATERNITY LEAVE!

What a novel idea. Oh wait, let someone else pay for your marxist plan, and certainly NOT the corporation you head, huh? I'm sure the thought never crossed her mind.

Good News Out of the PSRK General Assembly For a Change

Arm up your drones everyone....the session ended and the bill to make D.I.Y. weaponized drones a Class C Felony DIED!!! By default (just like open carry) if it isn't outlawed, IT'S PERFECTLY LEGAL! Another bill won't be re-introduced until next year.

In case you haven't seen the  Drone With a Glock  or the Drone With a Flamethrower roasting a turkey then feel free to watch them here. They both look like fun, but I wouldn't care for the taste of a petroleum basted turkey. I'd rather just burn other fun things.

One of the bills I'm glad to see that have died, would have made voter registration automatic when you renew your drivers license. You would have to opt out if you were against it, and I'm sure it would have been the perfect mechanism for democrat inspired voter fraud. The other bill would have mandated compensation for lost wages if you used federal FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) unpaid time off. The state would confiscate 0.54% of all employee earnings to fund it, with a maximum payout of $1000/week for 12 weeks. Word is, when they re-introduce it next year, there will be NO COSTS to business, so strictly stealing from hard-working tax payers. If this becomes law next year, I will be up to 30 reasons to GTFO of the PSRK.

PSRK Dept. of Corrections Covering Up Early Release Recidivism Rates

So....the PSRK must be the safest state in the nation, since we have the ever increasing  unconstitutional/intolerable acts of "common sense gun safety" in place, right? Oh, not so fast. While the evil gun owners of the state have been placed in check, the criminals have been literally allowed to run free. You see, by using moral equivalence, we peaceable gun owners were all held responsible for what took place at Sandy Hook, because that was easy. Keeping criminals, especially violent ones, locked up is hard. So, Emperor Dannel I came up with his Second Chance Society, also known as "Early Release" and began letting violent criminals out of prison. As the following web links show, it is a very flawed system.

Meriden Store Owner Killed in Robbery

See the smirking piece of shit Frankie "The Razor" Resto's Arraignment

The criminal coddling liberals that pollute state government at all levels did away with the death penalty, so instead of frying in Ol' Sparky, we have to pay three hots and a cot for this vermin until he's dies a feeble old man. Unless someone on the inside can hand out some prison style justice and waste this mofo.

53 Year Sentence Handed Down in Meriden Murder

Here's another example.

Early Release Criminal Robs Bank

Recently, because of the inherent flaws in such a program, Emperor Dannel I has "fixed" his pet project with Second Chance 2.0  Unfortunately, as we all know you cannot polish a turd, and now it has been revealed that the Department of Corrections is hiding the recidivism report. Of course, with the recent budget deficits, cuts were made to the state Freedom of Information Commission. Good luck getting that report to ever see the light of day. The following is a scan from last night's Journal Inquirer with an opinion by former state senator Len Suzio, who has been an outspoken critic of this program since it's inception.

The Latest PSRK Infringement - HB5054

So, the latest infringement has passed in the PSRK, and now awaits the Head Traitor, Emperor Dannel I's signature. I'm sure it will be a great big televised ceremony, with the Emperor surrounded by a cadre of hoplophobes, touting this latest "common sense gun control."

The PSRK General Assembly Vote - The List of TRAITORS

I have a better idea.....common sense politician control. Every time a politician even suggests a law contrary to The Constitution and our freedom and liberty, they are strung up immediately and replaced. After all, they seem to embrace communism all the time, I don't see why they wouldn't be on board with the Kim Jong-un treatment.

The Govern Against The Will of The People Award

Once again, The Kennedy Center gives the award for shitting on your constituents and going against the will of the people, and for using The Constitution as toilet paper.

Emperor Dannel Receives His "Major Award"

I can only imagine ol' JFK spinning in his grave with fire shooting out of his eye sockets!

Just Like the M&M Commercial....."They Do Exist!"

Those of us who have state carry permits and carry all the time hear about these strange creatures from the anti-gun hoplophobes, as though they are on every street corner. We, on the other hand, know they are as rare as Sasquatch, Snipes, and the Loch Ness Monster.

It is......"The Idiot That Somehow Got a Permit"

Vernon, CT Man Arrested for Firing a Shot in His Apartment

Unfortunately, he did not get his Darwin award, and this is one time I hope the PSRK never gives him back his permit or firearms.

Happy Commie Day

That's right, today's the day when commie dictators around the world show off their military hardware and legions of goose-stepping minions ready to die for the "Dear Leader." I like to be reminded of the good old days, when the sayings, "Better Dead Than Red" or "Kill a commie for Mommy" were spoken by people that thought America was the greatest country ever. Nowadays, being a commie is cool, as evidenced by groups like Occupy Wall Street, the global warming/change /disruption freaks, or anyone attending college.

I celebrated today by going to a gun show in Sturbridge, MA., and being surrounded by polite, like-minded Patriots, exercising true liberty and freedom the American way. Afterwards, a stop at Yankee Spirits to re-stock on inexpensive and tax free adult beverages. I'll take $12.99 per 12-pack of Sam Adams any time I can. In the PSRK, that same 12 pack may go for $17.99 plus sales tax. We have state minimum pricing for alcohol and a confiscatory sales tax on top of that, so living close to the border definitely makes it worth my while. Oh yeah....did I mention the additional tank of gas, car load of groceries, and dinner out when we go up there? The PSRK can SUCK IT!
